Alisa has a Bachelor of Arts Music and a Post Graduate Diploma of Education and has been employed by Education Queensland for the past 20 years. Alisa has developed a reputation as an energetic conductor and has been the director of some of Queensland’s finest wind ensembles including:
• The Young Conservatorium Symphonic Wind Ensemble (which included a tour to Singapore)
• The Queensland State Youth Wind Orchestra
• The Percy Grainger Orchestra at the Conservatorium State Honours Ensemble Program
• The MOST (Musical Outstanding Student) program.
Alisa has also lectured in orchestral conducting at the Queensland Conservatorium and is kept very busy as a guest conductor travelling all over Australia. She also runs professional development seminars for other music teachers as well as adjudicating at many competitions and festivals throughout Queensland and NSW.
Her current role with Education Queensland includes multi instrumental teaching, conducting, and project officer for the new Instrumental Music Outreach Program as well as being on the music interview panel for graduating teachers. She has also taught at Wavell State High School since 2012, where she is currently the Director of Instrumental Music.
